Do you have a routine or game plan when it comes to styling with props for your photos? Usually whatever dish or plate I decide to use dictates what kind and how many props I use. Most of the time I only add a tea towel. I don’t have very many props, but instead keep the photos pretty minimal. I like whatever I use to add a little texture.

What’s your Serving Style? Brand new/on trend, unique vintage originals, particular colors? I mostly stick to neutrals with a little bit of blue thrown in. My style is very clean and simple, partly because it’s my personal style and partly out of laziness! I would love to add a little vintage spoon and fork here and there, but haven’t searched for one (read: laziness).

Do you have a favorite piece in your collection? What’s the story behind it? My favorite pieces are my Heath plates. I love their muted tones and matte finish. My mom used to live in San Francisco, and every time we visited we would stop by the Heath outlet in Sausalito. Since I don’t need a whole set, I usually get a few seconds/thirds for very reasonable prices! My other favorite (I couldn’t decide!) is my mini cake stand by Herriot Grace shown in these photos. It’s the perfect size for the miniature desserts I make and the design is perfectly clean and elegant.

If you could get a hold of any item for your kitchen or tabletop, what do you currently have your eye on?

I would really love some wooden, marble, and slate boards! I also have my eye on every single item by Ariele Alasko, especially her spalted maple bowls
