You know those instagram accounts that make you slow your scroll...literally.

That is how I first came across

photographer Arielle Vey

. She just gets color right. It's like a pop tart explosion for the eyes, in the coolest - not overly girly way. In fact, her images make you feel like you're on a permanent vacation - or maybe that's the way she gives me a sudden urge to move back San Diego ASAP - because every photo she takes is just easy breezy, with a haze of romance...in a made up word: Total relax-ment for the peepers.

It's like a permanent happiest of  hours in her world, and we love it!

Come to think of it...I think she even managed to create that vibe perfectly with our mystery box of props. So

get ready for tropical paradise because...

You Got Served...by Arielle Vey.

Do you have a routine or game plan when it comes to styling with props for your photos?

My first love is photography so I always think about my shot list and then go straight to the color palette. Contrasting bright pastels with bold neutrals has become my favorite part of the styling process. I love playing with textiles and natural elements as I shoot, keeping the focal point on the dish or cocktail. By producing a variety of images I can isolate the best shots.

What's your Serving Style? Brand new/on trend, unique vintage originals, particular colors?

My serving style is a blend of favorite new pieces paired with fun classics that I always have on hand. I do fancy a charming vintage piece but that doesn't mean you won't find me at Target or Ikea going crazy in the kitchen department! As for color, I love putting together striking dark accents with something a little more cheerful. Deep greens and warm pinks are a go-to combo right now.

Do you have a favorite piece in your collection? What's the story behind it?

I have two pierced servings spoons that belonged to my grandma. One is simplistic and the other has ornate detail. She collected unique spoons throughout her life so I've always treasured what has been passed down to my kitchen. (seen below)

If you could get a hold of any item for your kitchen or tabletop, what do you current have your eye on?

Copper cookware! It wins for most functional and attractive at the same time.

We absolutely love this colorful (and seasonally appropriate!!) cocktail set up so much...thank goodness kumquats are making their appearance because we suddenly have a craving. Effortless, filled with color and a stunning style touch - it's no wonder this gal is working with some major national brands to bring their vision into technicolor life.

To see more of the world through Arielle's eyes - head on over to her gorgeous website, take a peep behind the scenes on instagram, and for a good laugh - and exceptional use of facial filters - you can also find her on snapchat.
