Sparkling Rosé Aperol Spritz Granita Cocktail
Sparkling Rosé, Aperol Spritz and frozen desserts are pretty much my three main objectives for summer. Refreshing, bubbly...A treat that can cool you down in a snap. Then it hit me…Why not combine all three?! Yes that's right...It’s time to take your Sunday brunching to the next level with a Sparkling Rosé Aperol Spritz Granita.
I promise it's going to be the new summer-timing BFF for you and your BFFs.
What makes this cocktail particularly enjoyable is the pleasing floral aromas with hints of red berry in the Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé. Its flavor is vibrant and well-rounded making for a deliciously easy-drinking wine that pairs well with unexpected bitter citrus aperitif and tropical sweetness of passion fruit. It's a unique combination that freezes beautifully into an elegantly colored slush that can be enjoyed on its own or with an extra splash of sparkling rosé.
This cocktail also makes for the perfect party pleaser – not only for guests, but for the host! You can make and freeze this granita several days in advance, giving you less stress and more time to focus on your company. In fact, I’m just going to suggest that you have a batch of this waiting in your freezer at all times – making for the most unique and unexpected treat for impromptu get togethers.
- Sparkling Rosé Aperol Spritz Granita Cocktail -
INGREDIENTS (makes 4 cocktails)
¾ cup passion fruit juice
¼ cup Aperol
4 teaspoons sugar
DIRECTIONS
Add all ingredients into an 8 x 5 glass or metal bread pan, stir well and place in the freezer overnight. Using an ice cream scoop, carefully scoop out granita mixture and place into a coupe. Add an extra splash of Sparkling Rosé for extra effervescence, then garnish with passion fruit and edible flowers.
A gorgeous beverage like this deserves a little flair to match - play off the tropical flavors with a passion fruit half decked out with edible flowers. I personally love a solid color theme and this purple bouquet includes bachelor buttons, borage and flowering cilantro blooms. Besides, what fun is brunch if you can’t get a little extra on your garnish game. Here’s to celebrating summer with a triple threat cocktail in style – Cheers my friends!
